Hi folks,
First post (just registered). I had manual shutter/aperture with the version before (checking Manual Movie Mode), but not with the new (downloaded yesterday, July 30).
Anyone else experience this?
Here's the details, in case they are useful:
-- 'M' in Exposure Mode still displays in the menu (but doesn't function)
-- The 'menu trick' doesn't correct the problem (i.e., going into the menu and back to regain manual control).
-- LCD will show chosen f value and speed, but the camera isn't following those settings
-- the loss of manual is not intermittent (like with previous version), but rather a complete lack of control. Both mpeg and avchd.
-- jpg exif data from jpg that accompany mov files shows f5.6 for all photos, despite what f value chosen
-- in contrast, shooting RAW files works manually (but of course that's not related to manual movie mode, but I'm just adding that in to eliminated other possibilities).
I noticed that in PTools the Manual Movie Mode is now in the main section, rather than the 'Patches for testers' section, so I'm hoping the loss was due to a simple error with the latest version and can come back. I'm using a 14-45mm.
This post is more FYI, because I still have the older PTools that works with the GF1 (where the "Manual Movie Mode" is in the patches for testers section).
thanks,
Chris
