GF-1 or GH-1 or NEX-5 or wait for their successors?

Hello guys, I live in Switzerland and I am 19 years old. I want to buy a new camera for both photography and films. Right now, I am unexperienced in photography and filmography, but I am a very quick learner.

I want a camera that produces a good result in both stills and video.

I would consider a GF-1 because it is compact and does not look intimidating due to the lack of a viewfinder. I would also consider it because it was hacked and the camera will thus offer more control. Can I use the custom firmware on any GF1 or do the most recent ones not accept it?

I would consider a GH-1 because it has some awesome video capabilites. But the camera is unfortunately not as compact as the other two cameras. The same question here; are there any hackable GH1 left in the stores?

I would consider a NEX-5 because it is ultra-compact and it has a larger sensor. But the menu seems to be very limiting and this camera has not yet been hacked. Maybe I could do some testing for you if I buy this camera?

I could also wait for Photokina and the new announcements, but that would mean that I have to wait even longer and I don't have anything to work with at the moment. My point & shoot photo camera and my half-broken camcoder are both more than 7 years old.

Now, what are your suggestions and thoughts? I'm looking forward to your answers.

I suggest find hackable GH1 on ebay :-)
GH2 will be available in december, and you do not know specs even, so, no need to wait.

The NEX-3 and 5 are not as compact as they may look , body only = sure but with the kit lens its not that small and if anyone buys one , make sure you buy 2 spare batteries coz u gonna need them...( battery life is the worst i have seen in any camera )

vitaliy, are you still trying to come up with a hack for the new gh1 cameras? i'm concerned i would end up with the new firmware and it not be hackable.

I'd wait if I were you - the best thing about waiting is that you'll never actually have to spend any money, there's always a better camera coming out soon so you can just keep waiting, and waiting..

if you need to get a camera now - get it now. I agree with Vitaliy, you can still get Ver1.2 cameras and it offers the best bang for buck.

I've been using GH1's unhacked for shooting weddings and I'm delighted, I've hacked them now to maximise their potential but without any hack they are still a great camera - it's amazing how many people think the original camera is crap since the hack came out. It was and is a great camera, Vitaliy's hack has simply maximised it's potential.
