Please help. I have the Val 25mm lens on and I am getting these lines. I also tried other lenses and this did the same.

thank you

You're using too high of a shutter speed, under fluorescent (or HMI) lights. Change your shutter to 1/60 and leave it there, the lines will go away. Happens with all MOS/CMOS cameras.

I am interested that the instructions say you use a 1/60 for 30p but 1/100 for 25p. I would have assumed it would have been 1/50?

1/50 is only appropriate if in PAL/50Hz territories. If in the USA or other 60Hz territories, you will absolutely get lines (not that bad, but lines) by using 1/50th.

Use 1/60 for 30p or 24p. Use 1/50 for 25p. But again, it depends on where you're shooting and what electrical system is in use in that country. If shooting 25p footage in the USA, use 1/60 or 1/40. Not 1/50.

I am in the UK and shoot at 1/50 at 25p PAL . Just curious as to why Panasonic should say that 1/100 should be set where the mains supply is 50hz PAL and 1/60 where it is 60hz NTSC if flicker occurs.

1/100 should be free from flicker too. In the UK you can use 1/25 or 1/50, and maybe 1/100, to avoid flicker. As long as it's evenly divisible by 100. In the 60Hz territories we use 1/120, 1/60, 1/40, 1/30, and 1/24.
