Getting video and sound hits PLUS the timecode crapping out!

Hey gang! I've been using my DVX100b without problems, but recently, my editor tells me that I am getting a crapload of video hits and sound hits! Plus, the timecode isn't always working! Do any of you think it might be that I need to clean the heads??? or is it something else. I've only had it since January (the cam).

If you change the battery while using the same tape, the timecode will reset and you should back the tape up a little bit before resuming recording.

As for sound and video "hits," what do you mean?
