Getting the best quality vids with what I have!

I went out on tuesday and shot some test footage with my DVX100b in 25p (PAL). I imported all the footage via firewire into Final Cut Express 4 with the "DV PAL" setting and made a short video that night in the timeline. Now I've read on here that FCE4 wasn't meant to import 25p and that would explain the not to brilliant quality. However I've also read that you can edit the footage in FCE4 just fine and have excellent quality using 25p as long as you export it correctly.

At this point in time I basically want to get my video on vimeo/youtube to see how good the image quality will look on the internet. Can anybody help me export my sequence to its full potential. Is it possible to get the video to its best quality without using Final Cut Pro? What steps do I need to take if it is (or isn't)? I would really appreciate any help on this and I'm really eager to learn so as I can start making some more little test film :)

Thanks
Kev

Hi all again, just checking back to see no responses :(

Since my last post I have exported the sequence as a "quicktime movie" from FCE4 onto my desktop (I read this was the thing to do in another post). I would really appreciate it if anybody could tell me if I have taken the right steps thus far (in this and the above post). I have no clue what the next step is to get this baby onto the internet at its best possible quality (or indeed if I have missed something out of the process so far).

Can anybody recommend any reading material that might help me understand how it all work, links.... books... etc. I understand explaining something such as this to a beginner might be a little time consuming and I'm always happy to do the leg work, if only somebody could point me in the right direction that would be really brilliant.

Thanks again
Kevin
