Getting the best from pics imported into FCP

I took some high quality pics when I was on vacation that I uploaded to my timeline. The ones that are full screen look great but then I have some where i scaled them down for a different look and even after I rendered the clip, I can see "jaggies". The picture doesn't appear as crystal clear as the full screen pics. What do i need to do to make the scaled down versions look just as clean as the full screen pics?
 
Make sure your field dominance is set to none. Sometimes you have to re-render or move the clips around for it to refresh.
 
Dpi means nothing in video. Grid size does.

FCP doesn't scale very well.

Also, viewing on the canvas is representative of final output because the canvas is a low res proxy
