getting my footage on my computer

Hey everyone, I need some help. I have a dvx 100 and a power book g4. I get the correct fire wire I connected everything and I cant get my footage to transfer. I put it in vcr mode and press play, everything plays on the camera but my computer isn't receiving a connection to import. What can I do am I doing something wrong? Help me out please. Thanks

Have you opened your NLE ?

Non- Linear Editing Software....ie whatever program u use to edit with.

everytime it happened to me it was because my firewire port was not active (for power saving purposes)... may be check that...

you have to have the capture software open that came with your NLE and have it connected to the camera through the software.
