Mine is in the hands of fedex and will be at my doorstep tomorrow morning. Ordered it in early Nov. P2 cards ARE with it (2-4gb)

Man, I'm excited for you guys, but at the same time bummed.
I'm #72 on Rush's preorder list, but I'm sticking with EVS, Rush
seems like a cool cat and has been more than fair with everyone here
regarding preorders and price.

Mr FedEx brought mine today. I bought from a local dealer in MI. With 2 4gig cards and shipping it was 6319. I had to pay tax on top of that, but hey, it's worth it to get the HVX without having to wait forever!!
 
Thats a great deal, I paid quite a bit more for the same 2-4gb package 6700 total w/ shipping
Oh Well, I think I'll be changing dealers for all my gear needs
 
Although I dont have the cards I have been playing with the camera and the biggest thing that strikes me is how much more professional and solid the entire thing is laid out. All button, knobs, inputs feel much more solid. The camera feels great .

I got put on the EVS list in MAY (I'm #7 now), and I still don't know when the camera is coming. I'm glad everyone is getting their cameras... I just wish I understood how the whole allocation thing is working.

Not to mention the cost is significantly more. $6319 for the camera and two cards - and you already have it? Maybe there's something I'm completely missing here...
 
Haakon, Steve, I feel your pain... I'm way after Haakon and way before Steve on the list, but will hang tough for a while. I'm betting a whole slew of them come in all at once, certainly sooner than jumping onto a local dealer list and basically rebooting your number.

It didn't help to learn that they are showing up at my local dealer as well... but I think that a tiny handful is distributed to everybody without regard to size of pre-order, etc. and that will change soon. Or not. Who knows?

All I know is that I was burned on my Z1 purchase from a local this time last year, and I mean burned. Wanted near full retail when everyone else was at the magic $4900 number. Then add local tax, etc. and it was one expensive Z1. I did badger for a refund to even the price out, but the original story I was given suggests that they were "doing me a solid" by knocking off a couple hundred from high retail... so no locals for me for a while.

I'll wait a bit if the money's better, but not too much... and yes, that $6319 for TWO cards seems like a pretty nice deal...

Hi Haakon, I left a few urgent messages on your VM Friday when the cameras came in and your number came up.
Anyhow your number is up :)
I don't understand the allocation thing either, all I can think is the people at the top of the list of other dealers are getting theirs, just like 8 of my customers have gotten theirs (+2 in rentals). I don't know if EVS is getting more or less than everyone else. I think other dealers are selling at or near cost to create new revenue streams. What's a loss on one or 2 cameras to get someone buzzing on the net about a great deal from such and such place. It's very smart! And it is good for the consumer, and that's all we care about in the end, as consumers... :thumbsup: I wish Apple dealers would do that... I could get a Quad for cost.

Yeah, I was on set all day Friday and by the time I got your voicemail, EVS had just closed. Needless to say, this has been a VERY long weekend. I tried calling you in the evening on Friday to leave a message, but the extension for your desk that's announced by the automated system (115 I believe?) didn't work. It just kept saying "invalid extension." Oh well.

You will be seeing me today, you don't have to worry about that. :)
 
No problem, I just wanted to make sure I reached you. Extension is now 126, that should work.
