Getting HVX200 footage to an SD DVD?

What's the best way to do this? When i shot 16x9 footage on the DVX100, I'd usually shoot letterbox or crop in post, export that as a 720x480 uncompressed quicktime (or quicktime reference), and then take that into the DVD program to be transcoded to MPEG2 and burned to a DVD. With the HVX200, I'm not sure what I need to do. I'm shooting stuff in 720p24pN and editing on a 23.976 timeline. What resolution do I output to (854x480?) Am I going to have to add pulldown somehow since these are pure 24fps rather than those encoded to a 60 field signal as with the DVX stuff? Will programes like Encore DVD accept this 16x9 stuff and add black bars for non-widescreen TVs or will I have to shrink the image to 720x480 and add my own black bars? Help.

HD was not introduced into Xpress Pro until v.5.x... are you sure of the version.

That being said, you could either open your sequence in a 23.976 NTSC project, duplicate the sequence and transcode to 1:1 NTSC. This will create an anamorphic SD timeline. From there the workflow is the same as you would have done with the DVX100.

Make sure in the MPEG-2 encoder you indicate that the footage is 16:9 so that the DVD will automatically play back letterbox, cropped, or full height depending on settings and monitor being used.
