Getting Hits on YouTube

I would like to gat as many hits as possible on Youtube, [after I post it there] any suggestions on the best way to do that?

If you know someone who is a YouTube partner, I would post it on their channel.

Someone like Sxephil (Phillip DeFranco) loves stories like this and loves telling the world about them. If you could get him behind you, you'd surely get hits. He's a little annoying, but he's got over 1.3 mil subscribers.

I'll favorite it on my channel when you post it.

It's a shame, too. I've always liked my VWs.

...And the paragraph 33 at the end is a little hard to read. Maybe you could blow it up a little or have a (different) voice do a VO.

Thanks for the suggestion. Sxephil does four of those a week??? That guy talks fast, but I think your right, if I can figure out how to get him interested that would get it out there.

It is a shame, we really liked the Toureg and were really surprised that VW credit would do this. The only reason we could think for doing it was to get the $350 disposition fee and we told Neftin we would pay that.

Thanks

He actually does closer to 8 to 10 a week. He has other channels as well. sxephil is the most involved channel he has, though. PhilipDeFranco is a side vlog channel that has probably 3 to 5 in a week as well. Not to mention his work on blackboxtv. This is his job though, and he pulls in plenty of money for this.

Any tips on where that VW is?

I'm not sure how to get Philip interested in this situation. A couple of other finance companies are starting to do this sort of thing, I just thought I'd point it out to others so they might know what to look out for.

For me I vote with my check book. Like I said I'll never buy or lease another VW again and I'll do what I can to dissuade friends, family and employees from doing business with them too. I just thought this would be a more fun way to stand up for my consumer rights than going to court.

Its at the top of a mountain in California in a gated community. Surprisingly someone actually recognized where this was shot.

i'll be honest with you, i can't help with the car. but if you're willing to take a trade in of my wife for the woman in this video, i'll be willing to pay the difference.

I don't see anything wrong with paragraph 33. To me it's a simple statement that you can't sell (trade-in) a leased car to a third-party, because it's not your property. That's like renting a camera and selling the rented camera to another person. Fair Market Value is almost always the way someone buys out a lease. That's what you're essentially doing in order to trade-in a leased car, you have buy out the lease and then you can do a trade-in. By trading-in for another VW you're still under a lease from the same owner and thus you aren't buying-out the lease.

The problem for me was we had agreed to a $23K residual [buy out], which was on the lease, we called for a payoff at the end of the lease which was the same as the residual, we even thought about trading it in on a VW CC, but the VW dealership would only give us what we owed - which is fine, you rarely have equity in a leased car.

We didn't know there was an issue until we traded it in at Toyota, when we questioned VW they said because of this paragraph they could make the payoff whatever they wanted regardless what we agreed to in the lease. This is pretty standard for leases, we've leased more than a dozen cars and no other finance company has used this paragraph this way.

I realize that they had a right to do what they did and I have the right to tell all my friends, family, employees and peers what they did too. I also realize there will be a lot of people who just think I'm an idiot, but I'm not as big an idiot to ever do business with a company who chooses to treat its customers this way.

And I was going to suggest getting someone other than Dee Snider to do the video...

Tastes differ, I guess. ;)

I wasn't half listening , it was very, very distracting, too much convoluted talking and I don't get the ending.. did you torch it, park it in the bush, or what?

Whatever message is in there.. it's lost.
