Getting experienced with the camera

Re: Getting experienced with the camera

That looked great! Can you shed some light (no pun) on how you lighted this? It was very well cut together. Great job. Inspires me to quit drinking beer and actually put something, anything together. (as oppossed to going out with my brother and drinking beer and shooting boats)

It looked very filmlike. Some of the better footage I have seen yet on the DVX. Really.

Re: Getting experienced with the camera

I used a 18" square piece of cardboard covered with alluminum foil.  It was around 2:00pm and the sun well onto the west side of the house.  There were windows to the left of Nancy so I just flooded her right side with sun light.  It did add a lot of dimension to the shot.  I am very impressed with the camera.

ckalan1, funny.. i use the same thing sometimes.. ive got a big whiteboard from hobby lobby that i use to white balance on, and also use as a reflector..i covered the backside in some nice heavy duty smooth shiney aluminum foil for when i need more reflection.
i guess i could keep my lunch hot if i wrapped the board around it.. its an all purpose sorta thing.

Re: Getting experienced with the camera

I too have a huge White Board I got from an art store. I use it to WB and do intend to use as a bounce card. Sounds as if I shouls put foil on one side?

Any other tricks (materials) I should use?

Very nice looking footage man. Makes me more excited to get one even more now. Some of the best I've seen.

Your Yahoo! Briefcase wouldn't cooperate!
