getting back into video

I'm Joe from north central Massachusetts. I'm 66- as a kid, my father made numerous home movies-which I enjoyed very much. A decade ago, I purchased a Canon HV-20 camcorder and was active in the HV-20.com web forum, which apparently is defunct. I played around with it for a few years- then got busy with other stuff. Now, for many reasons I'm getting back into video and will someday soon buy a 4K camcorder. It's mostly the ever improving technology that draws me back into it. And, I just started getting some of those half century old home videos scanned into digital files. My editing program is Cyberlink PowerDirector 13 which is a very nice program. I'm a forester by trade and hope to make documentaries of loggers and foresters managing forests.

I actually have an HV30 sitting on my desk in front of me right now. Used as a deck for old DV/HDV tapes.
 
It's nice to have a member older than I. These young whippersnappers know nothing better than to play on my lawn.
