Getting A7s .... a couple of questions

So I am buying a used A7s MKI as a specialty lowlight cam and b cam to my FS700.

Out of curiosity, if I am using an Odyssey 7Q+ with my A7s, is there a big advantage of using an A7sII over the A7s/7Q+ combo?

Also, anything I should know about using the A7S with the Odyssey? Any quirks?

Thanks!

I've only used the combo A7S/7Q+ once... The HDMI connection on the 7Q+ is super sensitive and glitchy. So if you are going to do something really critical make sure you look into some ways to keep that cable firmly in place. Just a little touch was enough for signal to break...

You get IBIS, and, even more importantly, the improved color of new Sony cameras. Together with internal 4K (which you won't use), that's the biggest reason to go with the II.

Color on FS700 and A7s do not match well in Sgamut so you will spend a lot of time in post fixing. I'm not familiar with the A7s II.

Hi Samuel. Can you elaborate your findings here? I follow your ACES tests since the Blackmagic Pocket Camera and would like to know whats is different from the A7s/A7sII.

Thanks! I ordered a lockport to hopefully prevent any HDMI issues.
Where did you find it and what did it cost? Need to look into something like that as well...
Edit: and was it for the A7S or the 7Q?
I found that the biggest issue was on the 7Q end...
