Getting 1080p with HPX170 troubleshooting.

I'm at work and we're shooting with HPX170s. Today we wanted to experiment with our usual format and decided to try shooting for 1080p.

We're shooting with the 1080i/24PA settings, importing the P2 cards into Final Cut, transcoding them to .movs and the results are interlaced. What's the method for achieving 1080p?

I've spent the past hour looking for the answer to this online, on this site and in Barry's book. We're at a loss. Please help and urgently (we're still in the middle of production!)

You need to be removing the pulldown when you import. In the L&T preferences there is a sprocket drop down menu. Click on that, choose PREFERENCES, and make sure REMOVE PULLDOWN is checked.

And now...are you SURE you shot 24pA? If you just shot 1080i 24p then it will be interlaced in a 29.97 stream.
