Those lenses look interesting, however not putting OSS in all of them has been a major mistake. I'd fork the $999 for a 24/1.8 prime (currently my shortest prime is the Canon FD 50/14), but only if it has the OSS which in the FS100 works great, basing on the stock lens...
I don't know... The 50 1.8 I may get just 'cause (And it is pretty inexpensive), but I don't think that I will drop a lot of cash on E-mount lenses like the 24 or 35. The E-mount is a great mount to adapt TO, because of the short flange to focal plane distance, but I would hate to spend dang near a $1000.00 for a lens (The 24mm) that, because of the short flange to focal plane distance, would be a pain adapting to other lens mount systems. The 35mm is just not fast enough and there are less expensive, faster vintage primes in that focal length that can be had used. I think that I will pass on most of the lenses that Sony offers in the E-mount and use widely adaptable vintage manual primes.
I also have to agree a 24 1.8 vs. the 24-70mm 2.8 doesn't seem quit worth it (what is that step 1/4 or 1/8) no clue. Plus if like me you have any Sony DSLR like the A77 sick mind you, that $1000 lens becomes kinda worthless in the long run. E-mount seems more like a step then a platform ya know. Kinda like the F3 native mount vs. PL well until the zoom lens for the F3 is released. If they release one for the FS100 that might be the only reason side the kit lens if your into it (don't have) to buy any E-mount lenses.
I'm going to end up adding this to my small collection because I think it's going to be a good alternative (to the kit lens) for some run-and-gun action with autofocus...
We'll see if it lives up to it's name...
The 50mm would be too tight for me..but interested in seeing some footage from it.
