I reserve copyright of the phrase "doing a Lucas". :)
It means to unnecessarily re-edit/enhance/add effects to what is already a classic.

First: You're not cool, because you bash somebody, you're just immature.

Second: If you don't like Jar Jar, nor the ewoks, then for you, George Lucas was never 'cool'. You should say: 'I hate the childish crap, but the special effects and/or action sequences are cool', as it works for the old and new movies.


By the way: I liked Jar Jar, but was always fairly embarassed by Chewbecca.

I personally did not like Jar Jar, but I felt the issue with the new Star Wars was not so much with one character, but with the general tone of the movies. They just weren't fun for me in the way the original trilogy was. If people choose to blame this on Jar Jar, that's unfair, but understandable; he was a real manifestation of all that Lucas has been doing wrong. If people choose to blame this on Lucas, it's still not really fair. We should thank him for the original (and truly fantastic) trilogy, and recognize the new movies for what they are: special effects films and imitations of the original in an age of special effects films and imitations of the original. There can only be one true Star Wars trilogy, because it was an innovator, and everything after it, merely an imitation (and yes, this goes for Lord of the Rings and The Matrix as well).

And yes, Chewbacca was a somewhat ridiculous character (he's back in episode III), but he was endearing to me because he was a fun character among other fun characters.

So I'll respect your opinion, but you shouldn't demean other users because of their's.

And Pascal, we're not bashing anyone; just stating our opinion. And it takes more than a 'cool action sequence' for me. I mean, really, come now Little Anakin racing those Pods or flying a Fighter?

Seriously lame.
