EDIT: SOLD
Making way for my next rig...so offering my genuine Steadicam Flyer rig with hardcase and compact vest for $4100 (V-mount, with no batteries/charger). Shipping extra, should be less than $250 to CONUS.
This rig has served me extremely well. It's in excellent functional condition and has only minor scuffs from use. I've added some small, but very useful upgrades. Details below.
15lb payload capacity allows you to fly everything from a DSLR to Panny HVX200, HPX170, HPX300, AF100, Sony EX1, EX3, etc. etc. I've flown Panasonic's HPX500. Without the viewfinder, it's just under 15 lbs. It flies like a dream.
If you're new to Steadicam, buy this rig...just add batteries, and it's complete and ready to fly...and then take one of Tiffen's excellent two-day workshops. A guitar doesn't play itself, you have to learn. But with a little instruction and dedicated practice you can be making money in no time. If you have a knockoff rig, this Flyer will help you up your game immediately. There is no substitute for Steadicam quality; none of the knockoffs in this price range deliver near the quality.
I'm 5'7", 165 lbs so this rig has the compact vest ($500 additional value). If needed, you can easily convert it back to a standard vest yourself by replacing the vertical spar and/or the Y-spar. I can get you in touch with the right folks at Tiffen/Steadicam to order the parts. But if you are roughly my size or smaller, the compact vest probably offers the best fit.
Included:
-Original aluminum-post Flyer, all black sled and arm
-Compact Flyer vest, all black
-hardshell Thermodyne Steadicam case
-standard def Flyer monitor, 500 nits
-V-mount (Sony/IDX system) battery mount
-original-style Steadistand
-docking bracket
-hex wrench
-cables: video (bnc), power (2 pin lemo to 4 pin xlr)
-remote control for monitor
-camera screws and locating pin, etc.
-original manuals
Extras and upgrades:
-EFP training DVD ($45 value!)
-bottom stage upgrade: Kipp handles on both monitor bracket pivot points, for instant setup and adjustment
-battery paddle upgrade: pivot has been upgraded with lock washer and Kipp handle for much easier dynamic balancing, and to eliminate slippage
-camera stage upgrade: kipp handle for dovetail lock
-arm upgrade: Replaced the pin where the arm joints the socket block, with genuine Tiffen removable pin, to allow for easy conversion to goofy-foot
To re-iterate, everything is in excellent, near-mint condition. It is used, but cared-for and never abused. Local pickup in Nashville, TN preferred. Shipping/insurance costs extra, at actual cost (estimated $200 for continental US). Email me at mark (at) sunporchmedia d o t com, or PM me with any questions.
