can anyone give us an idea of how best to Genlock TC on two F3's that we will be using on a shoot this upcoming weekend?
What do we need, any special cabling or just BNC's?
Thanks!

just bnc, but it's been a long time since i genlocked cameras. are you live-switching?

Thanks for the reply…..no, we're not live switching. It's a two camera, ( F3's ), feature shoot in Paris starting at the weekend. We want to TC jam / gunlock both cameras. One camera will have an audio feed so if both are running the same TC a multi camera edit / audio sync will be easier.

you don't need genlock for that. and if you can avoid dealing with genlock, you should. keep it turned off. just jam tc. i don't imagine the f3 is subject to terrible drift after jamming. but if you are able to leave the cameras cabled while shooting there will certainly be no drift. otherwise, just jam and occasionally jam again during the day.

make sure both are set the same regarding drop vs non-drop frame, of course. that's an easy gotchya.
