genital cover for women ?

What do female actors use to cover their genital area during nude/sex scenes, and where does one buy that? I know guys use a C*ck sock, not sure about women. I might make a short film from a short script i wrote, involves a nude shower scene, the actress might want such a thing if it exists. If this is not something easily obtained by indie filmmakers, could something be done DIY using a nude colored piece of fabric and some sort of adhesive body tape or gum spirit so the actress could easily apply the coverage herself prior to the scene?

I think if you find an actress comfortable and trusting enough to do the scene that a small piece of fabric is not going to make a big difference.

That's not the point. The actress may well be fine without it, BUT, it's something that shows very clearly that the producer/director wishes to have some parts hidden, and it's their call - so it's a modesty protector. Athletes and some dancers also have similar problems and use chamois patches designed to disguise outlines in potentially revealing costumes/clothes, and the guys often have a similar solution. You also have to consider the crew - many of them may also feel uncomfortable and such simple devices can cure potential problems.

You paint with too broad a brush. Not all crew members are male, and not all males are drooling knuckle-draggers.

And remember there's often a big psychological difference for an actor between what is seen by the crew vs. what will be seen by the audience. Sex scenes for big movies are often shot with reduced crew on closed sets because it makes the actor more comfortable, even though that's illogical considering the actor's wibbly bits will later be seen onscreen by millions.

I think it would depend on the actress... For example... the Hot Tub scene in "About Schmidt"(2002)...

I personally laud Kathy Bates for this sort of thing, it sort of 'deconstructs' the 'nudity == erotic' equation that seems to be so popular...
