General error (41) in Fp 5.1

hi

i Have been using a FCp 5.1 without any problem , Mpeg2 file format is not listing in the quicktime conversation menu , so that i was reinstalled the fcp 5.1, now my project file doesnot open, it showing general error (41)
how to correct this problem, please help
 
Detail your hardware and software and set up.

What sequence settings with what cam on what computer and how configured.

We can't see that from here.

And have you repaired permissions and trashed the FCP.plist file.
 
I am using Mac pro machine dual 2.6 Ghz , 2gb , 250gb hdd, OS 10.4.8 . DSR 45 deck is used for the capture. the file was opening without any problem. after reinstallation only it is giving general error 41 .kindly help this problem which is very urgent
