GEEKS UNDERGROUND - Web Series

Great cast... they really hit the geek thing perfectly. There is some solid entertainment quality here and will definitely check out the next episode. Good work!

Hey man, the first episode was great! Haha, the improv scene was classic and M.A.L., I love it! Keep it coming, I'm a fan!

Just to let everyone know we're a bit late with the second episode. We've been working on it non-stop. It will be coming online in early January.

Don't forget about us! Thanks guys for those who've been waiting patiently!

New Episode is out!

Check out our recent press release in the Montreal Mirror! (check the second post of this thread)

So no comments? No one has watched any of the episodes?

I watched both episodes. My basic comment is the dialog needs improvement... I presume no one is really 'an actor'. But if the point of this activity is to become filmmakers, actors, and scriptwriters, then I think some attention to dialog would be helpful.

I'll just make a couple of comments on the first '30 seconds'. In radio there use to be a 15 second rule... people running through the dial would pause perhaps at most 15 seconds before moving on or staying.

I think for these webisodes, the same rule, or similar, is applicable...

So, having a 15-20 second get out of the car, to the door, open the door, before the 'action' begins (or should I say interaction), will loose people...

On the second episode, the initial dialog between the boy- and girlfriend (heck I thought the girl may be his sister initially...), is also pretty long, before the real problem of the episode is gotten to.

I also think that during the various antics to pry the gamer loose from his game, you could add some comic items like speed changes, rather than having all the shots play at 'real time' rates.

Watched them both and enjoyed them quite a bit. I have to say though, I enjoyed the first episode much more than the second. It just seemed like the dialogue was better in the first Ep. More punchlines and geeky references I guess.

Still good though. I'll be checking the next installment.

Good points. Yes, the first episode we've received a lot of comments on the pacing of the film. The fact that the first episode took about 45 seconds before anything actually happens has more to do with conflicts of interest between the crew. Not to go into detail, but originally we had a bit of debate as to how to start the episode.

Basically we had the coverage to see Andy look at his phone and shut it off, but debates sparked and in the end we kept this version. I regret it now and it wasn't what I wanted, but alas, it's what happened.

Hopefully you guys will like the next episode a lot better. It's more about the overall arc of the story and has more jokes and funny lines.

New episode out- episode 4

Also we've got an interview on the Canadian TV show on gaming and entertainment called Electric Playground! It's airing Tomorrow (July 7th) on G4tech TV, or you can catch it online at elecplay.com.
