Garnier commercial

Thanks for posting Vincent. Very well done. I am looking at this camera for purchase, so please forgive my question - Is the original sharper? Just wondering if Vimeo softened the image with a lot of compression. lighting & color are spot on, just looks a bit soft to me.

Hi,

the AF100 is not the champion of the definition.... it's a bit soft because a the low pass filter, never aliasing but a soft picture !

Best regards,

Vincent

Vincent, your comment on the definition, does that change with an external recorder? I ask this because ive seen vids done with the Mark 5 that look very sharp and Do Ive seen amazing work on the AF, They all have one thing in common... They look soft and not sharp.

Hi Owaltec,
no the definition don't change with an external recorder. With a AJA KI PRO for example, the signal is just better in the sampling, the pixels are a little bit less visible, the pixels are more softy, and so the noise is less visible, it's the only advantage. No better definition, no better dynamic, just less noise in the shadow light. If i had the money, i change my AF 101 for the C300, the best video camera i've used, unbelievable dynamic, wonderful definition, a good codec, no noise in the shadow, a well noise at 1600 and 3200 iso, a very organic look... but too too too much expensive !!! the best camera around 4000 euros is well the AF101 for the price.
