Garage Band Tutorial shot on HVX

Nice job, I like it! As someone who's done dozens of instructional videos, both my own as an ACT, and for industrial applications, I have only one suggestion. When working with the app, show the app full screen. There's nothing in the content of you touching the laptop that lends to teaching, and the insert is too small to really make out. Show the full screen of the app, zoom in using Apple's built in Universal Access > Zoom feature, when you have to show detail.

But hey, for a first time, and in such a short amount of time, it looks really nice. Really liked it. Just wish I could actually see clearly what was happening on the computer screen more.

Agree with Ben here. Sound and quality are good but you need to focus and show the app. The small screen was not viewable and therefore would not be helpful to many. The app should be full screen.

Yeah. Thanks for the feedback. It was designed to be shown only on a huge cinema screen on which is we perfectly big enough but I know it must be frustrating for you.

Thanks for the feedback.

Agreed, and as a regular user of garageband, I didn't see how you went into loop editing mode. I do all of my work in MIDI and don't really use that mode, but I didn't see how you went into that mode. The framing was solid and you got some prett good colours for a bland setup, but would have liked to have seen more movement there. Some over the shoulder showing the screen, or even some different angles while the guy's playing guitar.

He was a good subject, though, so he really carried the video even without camera movements. Also, even though this has nohing to do with your shooting, it would be more helpful to get into the subject of the video sooner. It took a really long time before he even got to fooling with the program and my interest was waning, and I use the program! You definitely want to get to your point as quickly as possible, because a lot of time, once the viewer loses interest, it just won't come back.

Oh, you didn't say "huge cinema screen" before! That's different! I'd still focus more on the app when you're doing stuff, cause you moving the mouse actually has nothing to do with what you're teaching, you really, on any screen, focus in on the app.

But I bet it looks nice on a large screen.

Hi.

I'm a guitarist and really enjoyed this. The instructor is very funny and is a sick boy when it comes to odd licks.
The framing was good but it should change for intrest sake but i realize it was a 10 min job.

Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing more of your stuff.
