How to use the Gamma Corrector Box in Acquisition
The gamma corrector box is a simple device designed to be used in conjunction with a VariCam, between the camera and a monitor. It uses look up tables to correct cine-gamma to a specific look, such as Video Rec or film-out, restoring tonality and color for previewing specific types of deliverables. It has several buttons that will allow previewing different looks as well as having open buttons that can be programmed with custom lookup tables provided by film-out houses.* This can be useful in comparing the relative outputs of different film-out suppliers for your projects.
