Gain?

I know what gain is and on may camera I made it so the gain switches all say 0 gain. I did this because it's already sd and gain just makes it look like crap from what I have seen. I just expose the video manuelly instead of slapping gain on it. Is this ok?

It's totally OK. Gain is horrible and should only be used when you have no alternatives. Open the iris or get more light in there. Gain is a last resort.
