I mostly create greenscreened half body shot videos for some Youtube channels. I can record audio externally. I never do any run n gun. Do you think the G7 is a good buy?

I was thinking of adding a Atomos Ninja 2.

A G7 should do a fine job.
Video capture is excellent for that type of work.
Make sure you set your video specs to suit in the camera menu

The G7 is an excellent camera, and is perfectly suited to doing green screen interviews. I picked one up last May for a lightweight camera to document a personal hike on the San Jacinto "Cactus to Clouds" trail and decided to use it for all the live action in a client's video last fall as a test...

All the green screen was shot at UHD 30p, at 200 ASA for the least amount of noise, detail off (of course), and the lighting was all daylight fixtures. Lens was an old Nikon 50mm AIS f1.8 at about f2.8 if memory serves. While I know a great deal about green screen and keying in general, the budget, time frame and frequent editorial changes dictated that I just use the keyer in Premiere as-is... no running out to After Effects. So results can even be better if you hand tweak each shot. The side benefit was that after the initial rough cut, I was able to setup the key in Premiere, layer it over the background and keep on editing with surprisingly good frame rate playback for the rest of the editing process.

An external recorder is nice, but totally overkill if the deliverable is 1080p. All audio was recorded double system to a Tascam recorder and the line-out sent to the camera and carefully matched in level, but after some a/b comparisons I just used the camera recorded track and skipped the hassle of syncing up the double system.

Hope this helps...
