I have a GH4 and will be shooting in 4k 24P. I needed a cam B but could only get a G7 in PAL system.
I can no longer shoot in HD since Pal shoots only in 25P with low bitrates ,however the G7 Pal can shoot MP4 in 4k at 24P with 100mbps
Will I have an issue with matching them since both cameras shoots in 4k 24P? thanks

Should be easy enough to test for issues. Shoot a clip or two of some scene with the GH4, then shoot the same scene with the G7. Put one of the GH4 clips on the timeline of your editor first, insuring all properties of the timeline are set correctly for the GH4 material. Then drop a G7 clip in and see how they match up.

Thanks ,I did just that with premiere pro and no issues at all, the different region cameras of g7 and gh4, a long a it is shot in in 4k 24p is in sync ,except that the output info from g7 is 23.97 and the gh4 is straight 24 , the width also differs. other than that g7 pal is ok as b cam

why not switch the GH4 to UHD and 23.976 as well. That way you know they perfectly match plus both will be shooting the same aspect ratio.

yes i now switched to 4k uhd for gh4 and now its in perfect sync, one to note though, i used exactly the same prime lens
and i noticed that the crop ratio is different with g70 and gh4?

That is correct. The G7 has a slightly less crop of the sensor. The G7, for whatever reason only Panasonic will know, doesn't use a 1:1 UHD readout from the center of the sensor and instead uses a bit more and down scales in camera to UHD size. Its still an amazing image and most people can't seem to tell if this has any negative impact on the quality at all. If that many people can't tell then it likely doesn't matter.

I'm honestly considering selling my GH3 to get a G7 to match with my GH4.
