GH3 G6 Serious Flaw

You can really see the shadow halo in the later part of the clip, when the g6 is in etc mode. Others are reporting the same defect. A thread is already running at P-V.

I just tried it with a 14-42 II kit lens, ETC. mp4 1080-60p encoding, standard, 0,0,0,0 and it doesn't show up at all on my G6.

What they're saying at P-V is it's related to the i Dynamic feature, which is "on" with factory presets. Did you turn it off by design ?

I turned off all the junk the very first day trying to get full manual working. It turned out that I simply had the iA button on and that was preventing me from getting to manual video mode. LOL !!!

Could be wrong but I believe P-V is a reference to personal-view where the thread is at talking about this issue.

...if this problem can be corrected by simply turning off idynamic then that's a simple fix. I do think these things should be brought to the attention of panasonic if for nothing more than applying pressure to generate a firmware update , which as most know, is the first requirement for hacking the camera. However after looking at alot of clips , I'd probably be happy with the camera as it is as well. It appears to be better than the gh2 at release.
