F5: G-Series cards compatible with older card reader

I have two S-Series QXD cards because at the time, G-Series was out of stock. Now, it's the opposite, so I have to buy G.

My question is, are the G-Series cards compatible with the older QXD card reader for the S and N series?

I know the G-Series comes with their own card reader, but on set I want to keep it consistent and less confusing for the DIT guy and give him only one reader, which has to be the older version since the S-Cards don't work with the new G-Readers.

I know the S cards won't work in the G reader but I'm not sure about the other way around. I grabbed 4x64gb S cards before they were discontinued to save a few bucks and avoid the hassle. In some markets Sony really messed up as when I got my FS7 the G cards were not on sale yet so I committed to S cards and saved a few bucks. Of course any additional cards I will have to get G so I am hoping the S/N reader will work.

Older reader will read both cards but the transfer from the G card will be slower than with the new reader.

The new reader comes free with a G card.

You can use G cards with the Sony MRW80 but you can't use XQD cards without USB printed on them with the reader that comes with G cards. It's as simple as that. All G cards have a USB controller built in but the older S N cards have no such controller.
