FYI: VIMEO bug: Some video won't play in some browsers

Just an FYI heads-up:

Vimeo knows about this problem since it began late yesterday.

Issue is widespread & being discussed in many threads in Vimeo's Help forum:

Among other things, videos which have embed/privacy settings set might not play at all or display an error message. It's not been determined which combination of settings triggers the bug.

Seems to primarily affect Firefox on Mac, but may affect Windows users, too. Videos play fine in Safari on Mac, both via Flash & HTML5.

Hopefully they resolve this issue quickly, because my Vimeo channel is my web domain homepage.

Update: Vimeo seems to have fixed some of their issues. I can play videos in Firefox on my Macs now.

But I notice that videos now don't always play in HD by default. HD videos used to always play in HD mode by default. It might depend on if your browser cache is cleared or not, but I'm not sure. And I get different results in Firefox vs. Safari, and Mac vs. Windows. Other users have reported similar problems.

Anyway, just an FYI.

Ah that would explain the problem I experienced (black screen). I thought it was my laptop
