I've written about Cucoloris, a light modifying kit for shadow patterns, before, here, and the price was way too high - Digital Juice had it at $600. I asked if one can buy a kit like that for less, and there is a small one you can get for like $50-$75 or so here:

But it is somewhat small and not quite as sturdy. The more conventional cucoloris sets you can get at B&H all go for about the same very high prices of hundreds of $ if you want a set. But now the Digital Juice kit, which is 10 patterns with frame etc., is available as a deal for $150, which is a pretty good deal IMHO. I picked one up for myself:

I've been just buying some black foamcore and cutting patterns in with an exacto knife. Gaff tape up the edges for a bit more help putting up with wear and tear and you're good to go!

Dammit. missed this. Always looking for when this is on sale.

Heh, I bought it, but looks like I can't seem to take ownership of it. The FedEx guy who was delivering it the first time couldn't figure out how to get through the gate, so left a "delivery exception" note. Then Fedex tried again, but not on the day they originally said they'd try again, so of course I wasn't there, so nothing doing either. Now I have to go pick it up or they'll ship it back, but I'm away over the next few days, so can't pick it up - don't know what the ultimate resolution will be. I have constant problems with delivery services, with UPS being the worst... but what really depresses me is that I thought this should be the easiest part of the process - we have all sorts of maps these days, data services, communications channels, even "street view", and for whatever reason, package delivery services are as poor as they've always been. These days, when I buy something online, I don't relax just because I got the deal - everything is up in the air until the package is actually in my hands... often it takes 2-3 attempts.
