Other: FX6 audio menu setting ref/sens question

I have some audio setting questions regarding my Sony Fx6. They have to do with the ref/sens settings.
I haven't had these settings on my former Canon Camera's so I am fairly new with these settings.

When I set them to minus 50 (-50Db) in the audio menu,there's hardly any setnoise, but then I have to set my audio level dials almost to max (10).
It seems that -60 or -70 seems a better option.

Any experienced users on this issue?


My second question concerns the headphone output, there doesn't seem to be a way to quickly adjust that volume.
Am I right?
 
You can assign one of the custom buttons to adjust the volume for the the headphone/body sound. It's called "volume" in the menu.

Once you press the button, you adjust the volume with the thumb pad (D-pad).

As far as the ref/sans, it depends on the sensitivity of the microphone. IMO, the goal is to strike a balance. You don't want to use -50 if you have to put up your levels to 10. I would recommend keeping them between 5-8.
