That's too bad, you'll probably miss the DVX100's better exposure latitude. One of the things that bugs me about this HDV format is that the dynamic range is lacking, bright areas get blown out far too easily with this format.

It's not that I don't believe that it is you, becasue if it really is, I must thank you for gracing us with your presence. But the thing is, there has been so much talk about you here on the forum, you would think that you would grace us with a little bit more than that post.
If this is someone trying to pretend that it is you, let me just say right now, that is totally uncool. Impersonating someone online, is just as bad as identity theft in real life. You are putting words in somoenes mouth that were never said.

Not that I am trying to say that Nancy Schreiber would stick with the DVX forever, I assumed that using the camera for November was more of an aesthetic choice rather than (the camera that you had at the time).

By the way, how did you get that link. I went to the website and it said that it was still under construction, in fact, there wasn't much of anything there.

So, if it is you Nancy, thanks for gracing us with your presence, maybe you could answer some of the many questions about November on this site.
If it's not you, well I allready said what was up with that.

Oh, and by the way, what are you doing up at 5AM logging on to DVX user.com :)

That shallow depth of field is just jaw dropping.

The mini35 usually rents for around $300/day, maybe less for longer-term projects. And you can get that same shallow-DOF look on many cameras, the mini35 is available for the XL1, XL2, DVX, VX2000 and PD150 also.

Is it?. Can't say anything from this low res mov other than the shallow depth of field. With blown out highlights I do not think anyone can judge the quality of the camera. For the DOF, it is possible with any camera with the mini 35.

As I looked the the clip, I thought there is no way that Nancy shot this, if there are blown highlights, they are totally motivated. Having blow outs on the faces and lack of shadow detail would not be acceptable, or at least uncharacteristic of her work. The composition is not hers and for the last three weeks she was in New Orleans shooting a film with VariCam and then is currently in Park City, working with Kevin Bacon, as she was the DP for Lover Boy.

Amazing that people try to gain more credibility for their clip but posing it as something that it is not, shot by some one other than themselves. Why not just post the clip by who you are?

N._Schreiber doesn't have to be a Nancy. It could be a Nick, Nils, Nicole etc..... or is the Schreiber name patented lol.

The footage is just fantastic.

I thought it wasn't her. But no where does it say she shot the clip so I keep wondering how people come to this idea.

I don't believe the person posting as Ms. Shreiber claims the FX footage. I think they were just alluding to the the FX image being better than what the DVX could produce.

Silly nonetheless.

I believe the person is a Mr. Schreiber and the camcorder was a DVX.
