FX1 or DVX100a

First, let me apologize for posting another "which camera is better"...but that's what I'm doing.

I have both cameras at my disposable for an upcoming movie this summer. My dilemma, I love the true widescreen and "film like" look of the FX1 but I don't want to buy the XLR adaptor for the camera when the DVX has everything I need but not the true anamorphic aspect. Would you cough up the $200 for the XLR adaptor or use the DVX100a?

The FX1 has a film look? I don't think i've ever been too convinced of that with some of the FX1 footage I've seen. However if you like the look of the FX1 and you don't mind an interlaced image, shoot it in 1080i.

And Instead of an XLR adapter why don't you record to a separate source like DAT?

If 24p isnt your priority then go with the fx1, in my opition (keep that in mind) true 24p is the only thing the DVX really has over the fx1
