FX1 and Premiere Pro 2

Hi,

I was using Aspect Hd to capture the FX1 footage but the demo finished. Now I've been trying to capture HDV footage with premiere but the FX1 doesn't apear in the Sony Device Type. What I do is:
Device control: DV/HDV Device Control
Then I go to options
Video standar: Pal
Device Brand: Sony (I tried with Generic too)
Then on "Device type" the FX1 doesn't apear (I tried standard and alternate1 too)

The weirdest thing is that with these settings I can control the camera via firewire but I don't see anything (black screen). I thought it could be because the camera was in "auto" (DV/HDV) and I set it to HDV but the exact same thing happens.

Aspect HD is very nice but right now I can't afford to spend 400 bucks and I need to be able to edit HDV. Any suggestions?

I used:

Sony as teh device type

control dv/hdv device control

device brand: sony

device type : standard

which you did.... when you check the status of the device, does it say online?
once that capture window is open, try shutting off the camera, then turning it back on and see if you can see the video then.
Make sure to set [VCR HDV/DV] and [i.LINK CONV] on the IN/OUT REC menu before you connect the firewire cable. If you connect the cable first, the computer may hang up or may not recognize teh signal from teh cam.

I am having this same issue. Any help? It captures fine when I use the HDV->DV downconvert. What a bummer that Adobe thinks the FX1 works flawlessly.

Another thing I noticed with mine is that you have to make sure to connect the camera AFTER you have your project started and after you bring up the capture window.... I have gotten the black screen sometimes when the cam was connected first and tried to capture taht way... dont know if that helps.

I just use the standard device control too and its alwasy worked fine...
