FX-1 and Abobe Premeire 1.5.1

Wonder if anyone is experiencing problems using the Sony FX-1 Camera in combination with Premiere Pro 1.5.1 in HDV mode. I am using Matrox 100 extreme capture card and Pentium 4 PC 3.0Ghz with 1G ram.

Matrox extreme will NOT recognize the camera with device control in HDV mode. I also cannot operate (i.e, capture within Adobe premiere) even when selecting "No Device Control" as an option and manually trying to capture. I can capture and Matrox does recognize everything that is in DV mode. Any suggestions from anyone...other than switching editing programs?

Thanks
HH

Horse - I wouldn't be so quick to jump ship just yet. I wish I had access to a FX-1 to experiment on my system for you. I too use PPro 1.5.1 and the Matrox 100 capture card. Have you tried posting this issue on the Premiere forum and the Matrox forum?

I work for a company that sells the FX-1 and Z1-U, and I should have one of those to play with very shortly. I am using Premiere 1.51 as well, but with Canopus DVstorm2 Pro. I'll update when I receive the camera.

Good luck.

have you guys considered using Vegas 6, heard it works rock solid with HDV....

Well.......considering I'm not doing anything with HDV (and probably never will) and I doubt this is a PremierePro problem, I'm not switching anytime soon considering I've been using Premiere since v.5.5

Make sure on the FX-1 menu that HDV mode is selected and the Conversion setting "HDV to DV" is turned off.
