I am really looking forward to this product. I will be putting this thing through some pretty rough paces around 100 youth in Florida next week. WIll post my results!
 
Hey Guys,
I was just wondering how people are receiving the unit? (I mean your thoughts on it.) Is it working for you, do you like the sturdiness of the FireWire connection after the FWS or are you dissapointed?
I'm working on other products as we speak, and wanted to get some feedback on this.

I think its brilliant, simply brilliant. Best few dollars I've ever spent. Very sturdy for such a small attachment and is a very simple solution to integrate into setup.

Exactly how long after an order is placed to these items ship?

I bought one, and received no acknowledgement or shipping info.

Just got my FWS-01 about 5 minutes ago.
I was skeptical as I took it out - but once I hooked it up I have to say that I'm really happy with it. Seeing as I shoot with a firestore most of the time, I live in fear of snapping that Firewire cable off. I wouldn't say that the FirewireSaver makes the connection 'rugged' - but I definitely think I'll be breathing alot easier next time I'm out shooting.

Actually - I'll be shooting tomorrow - so we'll see how it goes.

Thanks Luis - this is my favorite type of accessory, a simple solution to a huge problem.

I'm glad you like it. You don't know how many people contact me after they have damaged their Firewire connection. they have sent their cameras for repair and now that they know its a problem, they start looking for a solution and they find me.

If you are always using the FS-100, you might be interested in this thread. I'm working on another project for myself, that I will be selling to the public.

Whats the turn around for shipping? I might be leaving on a trip in two weeks. I use the firewire port to offload to a external battery powered drive in the field, sometimes in rough conditions. I would love to get my fws before i leave.

I try to get them out in a day or two, but sometimes works gets in the way. If you send me a message and place the order this weekend, I'll get it out on monday. Along with the other 2 or 3 that are in the que. That should get it to you in time.
