Hi all.
Since to me high def from HVX will be unusefull for a while, I have a couple of questions regarding dvcpro50:

Regardless of the (obviously interesting) plus coming from 4:2:2 scheme, lighter compression, 16/9 nativeness, and minus coming from lower sensitivity, will be there some kind of difference in terms of resolved lines from a DVX? In other terms, will the 940x540 (+pixel shift) imager on the HVX gives advantage about perceived resolution when recording SD?

Anybody knows if copying dvcpro50 files OTG on a FW selfpowered drive will take longer times over 720 or 1080 ones? How long will take with veryfying to download an 8gb card?

I know for the last one I could have used search button. Me lazy...

Thanks
Alvise

I believe you actually get less time recording DVCPro50 than 720/24pn --- 16 minutes vx. 20 minutes on an 8GB card.

As for the copy times, it doesn't really matter what format you shoot in. It only matters how many gigs you're copying. The computer doesn't know DV50 from HD.

In terms of picture quality, the DVCPro50 will blow you away! It's a quantum leap in quality from DV. I had a DV shooter friend over the night I'd shot my first DV50 stuff and he couldn't believe his eyes. I think he actually drooled.

Finally, the lower sensitivity hasn't been a problem at all, and I've now done 4 run and gun location shoots without a lot of additional lighting --- mostly in doctor's and dentist's offices. I can't imagine anyone being unhappy with this camera. If you have a DVX and love it, the HVX is just SO MUCH MORE!
