FW 800 Drives (Lacie)

One of my PC Avid MC's uses SCSI drives, the other a FW800 card, and the G-tech 2tb solution (both 3.5.x).

Both edit fine, and I get good thru-put considering the cost of SCSI drives (Roarke Date & Medea) vs G-Tech. At the time the G-tech was around $750 for 2TB vs thousands for scsi drives. I'm very happy with the G-Tech's performance considering it was cheap.

Yesterday a freelancer of mine (who typically edits on his FCP) was telling me of a Lacie drive I was unaware of. The LaCie 2.0TB 2big Quadra 301352U was being retailed for under $300- even less if you use Bing shopping. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...01352U_2TB_2big_Quadra_External.html#features. Kind of a cool unit, you can hot swap out drives.

Anyone use one of these on a PC Avid? From what I can gather.... it seems like it should work, Im just curious if there's actual end user feedback. Or should I just stick with the G-Techs which are $25 more and I know work fine? http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...4_2000_2TB_G_RAID_External_Hard.html#features

Thanks for any help you can provide.
