Fuzzy Video

I have video shot in 24p on a DVX100a, and when I import the video it doesn't look as crisp as when it is on my camera. This has been true occationally in my experience with this camera. Also I am getting more interlacing than usual, and my audio seems to get off sync also.

-Using Final Cut Pro
-Shot 24p (not Advanced)
-Capturing using Firewire and default DV NTSC Capture settings
-Shot on DVC Pro Tape
-Well lit scene, vibrant colors but it doesn't look as crisp in FCP as it does in my camera.

I know this is a general question and many may be reluctant to respond, but I have about 5 months experience, so I am not some noob posting an illegitamate question.
I just want to know if I am overlookin something big or small.

Did you check if the camera is on when you're filming?

Also .. just kidding. Do you have some screen grabs of what you're referring to?

So I have a screen grab

So I have a screen grab

Whe I exported it as a Quicktime movie and grabbed this frame....I got a wonderful image. Why doesn't it look like that in motion?

I'll bet that's it. Check, and let us know.

P.S. That footage looks interlaced, not 24P. Notice the horizontal line's on his middle finger.? Are you sure it was 24P? maybe it's just a bit pixelated?

p.s.s. It's also a bit out of focus.
