sweet all!

First post been a lurker for ages glad to be onboard learnt shi* loads from this forum,
I was advised to get a DVX over a PD-170 glad I did and know ive also got my hands on a SGpro35 adaptor...hmm nice

Anyway ive got a funny aspect issue seems to be only with the adator

DVX100a ,project dv pal 720x576 ,premier pro 2 , SGpro35

when I import the footage I need to scale it in(to 75% from 100%) width ways to make the aspect ratio correct (actors av got fat heads)
the extra footage is off the edge of the screen ,Im sure all my project settings are correct and camera is in normal mode (no squeeze/ 16:9) etc any idea ? its pickling my head

cheers Russ

Hi Russell, Welcome aboard. First off, your SGpro will not effect the footage aspect ratio. If your actors have fat heads it sound like you have 4:3 footage in an anamorphic timeline, thus stretching them.

What NLE are you using then someone can chime in with what to check.

Hi ya Im using Premier pro 2 project settings are D1 DVpal(1.067) 720x576 4:3.

I have to scale the width of the footage down to make it fit the 4:3 its like its over scanning just the width for some reason,
Aspect conv in DVX menu is set to normal it does seem like a premier issue but ive always used the same project settings...hmm

Somehow the image is being stretched. I understand your timeline is set to 4:3 and you shot 4:3. Is it possible on capture you selected a preset for 16:9 or have the clip set to 16:9 somewhere.

Thats all I can think of as I dont have a ppro system anymore.

still stretching but I just captured part of another tape and it didnt stretch! but cam settings are the same...
somthing to do with the tape?

Russ

Id say not tape. Ask a mod to move this to ppro forum Im sure someone there could answer this.
