ive had my af100 for quite a while now, and ive kinda always had an issue with the function knob/switch thing. Whenever i try and do variable kelvin for white balance, the switch wont respond when i try to lower the K. I sometimes have to push different angles or up then down, but sometimes just dosent work at all. Anyone else experience this or is it just a minor issue with mine? Ive got a second body that my roommate owns and I have used his when mine goes out on other jobs, and that one seems to be fine. Just the first body that i got seems to be kinda picky.

I've run into the same issue. You're probably in the Area mode. You'll see under the battery icon. It will say Area (but not always) and the crosshairs box will be visible and adjustable. Hold down the function knob for a couple of seconds until the crosshairs box goes away. Then you will be able to adjust the color temperature.
