Fun with my new DVX

Hello everyone. I've had my camera for about a week now and have been learning everything I can about it. Problem is, I just can't wait to get out there and start making movies (or films if you're a snob). So, together with my two sons, I hiked into the nearby woods, set the shutter speed to go go go, and came up with this.

I wanted to do so much more but my eagerness to edit kicked in(that and my laziness mutation). Let me know if you want a sequel.

Seems funny replying to my own post before anyone else, but there's a problem with the clip. Try pasting the url into a browser and it should work.

Re: Fun with my new DVX

..was this just a test?   .. i just didnt get the part about a sequel. nothing really happend in this one.  i couldnt tell if it ended before it was supposed to or something, but is it supposed to end when he points the gun down?  it was interesting to watch though.. good to get out and do stuff.       one suggestion for the future that i have is that the person should move tactically if they are supposed to be trained in combat. ..the movements of the subject in question made it seem as though some random person had found  some gear and a gun to run around in, and went off prancing through the woods. .. i really didnt know what was going on though so youll have to excuse me if im assuming too much there though.

I right-clicked & saved as with no problem. Hmmm...

And I have to ask...were some of those sound effects you on a microphone? Sounded...humanish.

Not a criticism. I liked it. And yes, want to see more. :)

Hey Neil R., yes you are assuming too much. That was my 14 year old son and his combat experience is limited. You are right about the gear. It was mine originally and it was thrown on my kid. It was a test. I was trying to achieve the washed out high shutter speed look of some recent war films and television programs. Once I'd edited it together, I realized I should have put more in and had more of a resolution to it. Oh well.

GenJerDan, I don't know if I should admit this, but the sounds were taken from a game. Thanks for wanting more. Next one will be better.

Re: Fun with my new DVX

..well, the important part is that he had fun, and you got some hands on with getting the look you were going for, and working with the camera.
no harm meant in what i had suggested. i just thought it may have been something that was just overlooked as an aspect of the project is all. :)
