Fujnon 13x3.5 lens question

I'm about to purchase an HPX370, but need a solid wide lens. Nobody I klnow, nor my local vendors, nor web searches, can help me out with four basic questions I have about this lens. All I get is "This lens is awesome and a solid piece of glass" and variations there of. And to answer the obvious statement most will offer: "Get a WA adapter!" The answer it simply: "No, it won't cut it, nor do I enjoy the additional heft it will add to the front, and the headaches it will pose for mateboxes"

Question 1: Does this lens breath a lot? Or is it minimal?

Question 2: It's not a CAC lens, but being a quality lens, does it have CA that I need to worry about on an HPX370?

Question 3: Is it a constant f-stop lens from wide to telephoto?

Question 4: What's the barrel distortion like at full wide, if it has any?

Thanks in advance,

I think Balster's review answers all your questions! Very impressive, even his worries about red and green fringing on highlights is really minor, probably less than most HD lenses out there.

Good review Balster. Thanks. That helps. I will be getting one for sure. As for the fringing, well, I saw the HM700 with it's stock lens, and let me tell you, that's CA galore! From the review of the 13x3.5 with the HPX300, it's practically non existent.

Is it a constant f-stop from wide to tele?

There is CA, but mostly in difficult conditions. And yes it has a constant f-stop, I have never seen a pro lens that doesn't.

Even the £40,000 Canon HJ40 has bags of CA at times. You'd probably expect things like Cooke S4s and Zeiss Digiprimes etc. to be free of it, but your Fujinon test showed as tiny an amount as probably any zoom I've seen.
Agree about the stock JVC lens too, shots I've seen on the web look awful for CA.

I agree with Steve I did a shot of a small fireplace last year and saw this purple fringing, I put it down to flare or internal reflections/diffraction rather than CA as it is a totally different colour.
