This is a great lens for the professional ENG cameras it was designed for as well as being adaptable to the new digital DLSR and Micro Four Thirds cameras available today (adapters sold separately and are not part of this auction).
The beauty of professional lenses like this one is that 1) They are Parfocal, meaning that they keep their focus throughout the zoom range (so you can zoom in to get a good focus on your subject and then zoom back out for your composition without worrying that you will loose your focus) 2) They are Constant Aperture lenses, meaning that once you set the Fstop, it won't change throughout the zoom range or if your lighting environment changes... it is manual and You are in control 3) The Rocker Controlled, Variable Speed Power Zoom is smooth as silk and is so precise that everyone will think you're a Hollywood Producer.
How We Use This Lens
I am well known for caring for my equipment and providing accurate descriptions for my auctions, and I've been impressed with this lens since I first acquired it.
This Fujinon lens is in daily use, and is only handled by 1 DP.
When needed in the field (only 15% of its use) it is transported in a commercial, padded case. It is mostly used in a smoke free studio, and when not in use it is stored in a padded case in that same studio.
We have several of this type lens, and we just changed out some of our camera gear, so we don't need this one any longer. We are sad to see it go, but it needs a new home and I hope it will go to someone who will care for it like we have!

The Fujinon has some signs of wear as you might expect, but it is far better than average for a working lens in this class. The photos show the condition of the lens, so inspect them and see for yourself.
Everything on the lens is in perfect mechanical condition. The zoom and aperture rings are smooth throughout their throw, the extender works exactly as it should.
The servos work perfectly and the zoom grip works great to provide a smooth, variable speed zoom with rocker control (very precise).
The connector from the grip to the camera is a 12 pin Hirose and can be powered with an external adapter cable (we manufacture) connected to a battery source for use with any number of cameras that have adapters to use this 2/3" B4 lens. We use it on a Panasonic AF-100 and GH2 and the zoom works perfectly with an external power source. The connector for the external zoom control (underneath the hand grip) has been tested and works as well!
NOTE: The Servos Work. The video shows this lens working with external power. We are not responsible if you try to power it with a non-certified power connector or if you connect it to equipment it was not designed for. All sales are final so for your own sake, don't experiment. We would be more than happy to sell you the proper equipment rather than have you damage your new lens.
