Thanks Jim, that is super nice of you. I did end of changing a few things in my settings and it looks like its fixed. Thanks DVXcrew!

This video seems to indicate there's still some problems when zooming with the 16-80mm f/4 even with the 1.01 firmware:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7JHDBhhoYg

Unfortunately the video doesn't do a side by side comparison though, so it's a little difficult to gauge whether there's any aperture flicker improvement. The lens definitely does not appear to be parfocal though.

I have another lens that does exactly what this XF16-80mm f/4.0 OIS does, my Canon EF S 18-135 f/3.5-5.6 STM IS. It's far worse than just not being parfocal, the AF actually lags the zooming quite badly, you zoom while in focus and the AF takes about a quarter of a second to even try to refocus, which it does, but that delay is a killer.
I used this lens in Morocco for shooting the BTS for Prison Break S5 and there were a lot of crash zooms because I was shooting action sequences, car crashes and stunts. It was terrible but it was the only mid-range zoom I brought on the shoot, we had severe weight restrictions with the airlines for both carry on and checked baggage.
Unfortunately, I think it's inherent in the lens design. I also have the EF 24-105mm f/4.0 IS II and I can zoom all I want and the lens never lags behind the zooming with the focusing as the previous two lenses discussed do. With the Fuji, pair the zoom/focus issue with the focus twitching/hunting and the exposure ramping and you have
a complete mess for trying to use it for video.

I'm debating dumping the XT-3 and my XF lenses and going back to a Canon 90D or EOS R. Neither camera and my existing dozen Canon lenses, with the exception of the 18-135, have all of the focus twitching, exposure and zoom issues that the Fuji has. People keep saying, buy the MKX 18-5mm t/2.9
but that lens, because it's a cine lens without AF, would not be good for gimbal or using the XT-3 on a motion control slider, both of which were the primary reason I bought the XT-3. The MXK 18-55mm would be good on tripod and for handheld work but I dont use the XT-3 for either that often.
I don't know what to do as far as gimbal and slider camera, it needs good AF and the Canons have the best AF besides the Sonys and I am not buying an A7 variant.

Dan- the Crane 2 + EOS R is a great combination. The RF 24-105 F4L, 16-35 F2.8 II (+III, RF 15-35 IS), and EF-S 10-18 (I paid $199 new!) covers everything you'll need for medium + close shots handheld or gimbal. Canon Log works fine in 8-bit (also found max DR custom profiles work well too (e.g. Filmic Skin)). While the stock Canon colors are good, with a custom profile it's a lot more Alexa-like. Interestingly the new M6 II is looking really good straight from camera: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5do8BsFukDY .

For medium-close shots, the EOS R in full frame is usable for YouTube when scaled to 4K and post-sharpened (and uploaded in 4K). It'll never be as good as 6K => 4K of the X-T3 or any of the Sonys (even in 4K), it's really easy to get good looking footage with Canon: color, AF, manageable bit rates, sufficient DR, decent low light (Sony sensors have an edge in DR & noise). For wide angle 4K, the 10-18 works great- and it's super small and light (quiet AF too). It appears Canon's (surprisingly useful) digital IS works better on FF lenses when shooting 4K. The 10-18 is EF-S + IS, however it doesn't seem to be as stabilized as the 16-35 (no IS) and especially the RF 24-105 IS (which I used in 4K handheld to shoot basketball and skakeboard in Venice- no visible RS or shakes). The 10-18 makes up-close wide angle 4K possible. When needing detailed landscape shots, X-T3, Sonys are more suitable tools. For general purpose, must-get-the-shot 1st time, the EOS R + Crane 2 (or similar e.g. the new Weebil-S) is an excellent solution. Being able to use a $33 clean preamp with LiION 9v (lightweight) with any XLR mic rounds out the package: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07J5QT23H/

Here’s a fun development. Just tried my Sigma 18-35mm T/2 Cine on the X-T3 with my new Metabones PL-to-X-Mount Speedbooster, and it covers (with a slight vignette) from 23mm upwards (and from 25mm the vignette becomes imperceptible).

So with the Speedbooster the lens become a 16-25mm T/1.4!

That’s a nifty wide-angle. :)

What 18-35mm conversion is that? Doesn't look like duclos. Is it one of the chinese ones? How you like it?

Aha. Didn't even know they had it. So I guess that takes the duclos out of business? Or is it more expensive than duclos?

Yeah, I can't imagine anyone has sold many 18-35mm rehousings since the Sigma came out.

I think Duclos is still plenty busy. In fact, I remember Matthew Duclos being pretty OK with those coming out. From his blog a couple years ago:

SIGMA STEPS INTO THE SPOTLIGHT WITH NEW CINE ZOOMS AND PRIMES
SEPTEMBER 7, 2016
BY MATTHEW DUCLOS

This one has been a long time coming and I couldn’t be happier to be breaking this news to all that have waited so patiently. For the past couple of years I would receive an email or phone call about twice a month asking if we had plans to convert the Sigma 18-35mm and/or 50-100mm to a cine lens. I would consistently, politely decline citing high cost or some other hurdle that made such a project unattractive to my organization which was generally met with the oh so annoying “Well, this other company in China does it for real cheap”. Good for them… But alas, we can finally admit to the real reason why Duclos Lenses has avoided such a project. Sigma has taken it upon themselves to carry out what so many have asked for over the past couple of years; Manufacture a high quality, fast, lightweight range of zooms and primes direct from their factory in Aizu, Japan. Let’s take a look into the future of Sigma Cine.

The Sigma 18035 T2 sells for $4000. And it's widely rentable (I've rented, but don't own it; seems pretty good for the price).

Love to see some footage from this if you have anything posted?

Couldn't have a $1500 10-bit 4K/60p little powerful machine with perfect colors and perfect auto-focus floating around...something had to give and it did.

Doubtful at best.
Fuji comes out with new cameras on a very regular basis.
The R & D team is part of a budget with specific allocated resources.
When that team moves on, it moves on.
