I've got a good, solid Libec LS-38 tripod, which I bought several years ago on the strength of this review: http://www.dvuser.co.uk/content.php?CID=150
I've used it a fair bit, but it's in great shape, 100% functional and cosmetically pretty dang nice. This is the mid-level spreader version. The only issue I have with the Libec is that it's a bit harder than it seems like it ought to be unlocking the tilt--when you lock it down, then unlock it, the lever takes a bit more effort that I'd like, and releases with a bit of a snap, unless I'm really careful. Not a game changer, and it's consistent to every other LS38 I've fiddled with. Otherwise, it's a good entry level pro spec 'pod.
I'm upgrading to a Miller Solo/Cartoni head package, and I'd like to trade downwards for a b-camera tripod that's better than my crap old Bogen 501. Ideally I'd like to get a 503 or 503HD/HDV head on a good set of sticks. Prefer carbon, like the 190CX or similar. But if you're interested, let me know and we can talk.
I'm prepared to lose a bit on this, so would conceivably be willing to trade straight across. We can each get what we need most--you a bigger, pro tripod, and me a decent second pod. I'm in Seattle. We can discuss shipping costs, etc. if/when we get that far.
Holler!
