FS700R - Odyssey 7Q+ - Need some knowledge

Hi guys,
I am wondering what can the FS700R and Odyssey7Q+ do without the RAW upgrade? Are there any other alternatives for 10-bit 4:2:2 4K shooting? I would be very appreciated of your help. Thank you.

Without the raw license you can record the HD 8bit 422 signal from the FS700. And although it's an improvement from the internal Recording, unless you have clients demanding ProRes, hardly worth the price. And also you can't record any 4K at all.

There's also the Atomos Shogun/Shougun Flame that can recorde the raw signal from the FS700 without the need to pay for a license. Although it's 30p maximum. The upcoming Shogun Inferno will do raw to ProRes in 4K at up to 60p and 2K at up to 240p just like the 7Q+, also without the need to pay extra for a raw license.

On the Odyssey7Q/7Q+ and the Sony solution can record in that mode. Only Odyssey can do both CinemaDNG and Apple ProRes.

The Shogun Inferno is supposed to be able to do that. But it hasn't been released yet so nobody can tell how reliable it will be, and if all functions are available when it ships or if some will be in future updates...

If you want something that works today, there's only the 7Q+ if you want anything over 30p.

The 7Q+ also have some other tricks up its sleeve (4K to 2K super sampling for example).
