FS700 Wildlife Shooter ADVICE

I shot a 16 episode wildlife series for OLN awhile back, Did most of my work 90% with a 11-165 (?) workhorse canon zoom on an aaton s16. really the best lens is the typical betacam style canon zoom 9- 145 or whatever the flavor is. Get as close as you can to that. you want range and speed for nature- fast reaction time. quick zoom (or manual zoom). It happens fast! I've put together some nice primes for my FS100 and I also got the kit lens. For this it's kit lens all the way. Still guys have a saying the best camera is the one you have with you. In nature the best shot is the one you dont miss frigging around with you kit! KISS

Sounds fun

Here is the fs700 set up i just made.
can support both canon fd converted cine lenses, 800mm f5.6, 300mm f2.8 with either ef or pl mount,
im using ef with metabones so its universal with the smaller glass
custom lens sled, suports glass in front on spike and back with camera, reduces vibration shake with large magnification.
this pic i took the first time i put it on my sticks and was grossly front heavy, "blue" lead weights were to balance. I moved the tripod plate mount forward and it is balanced perfect now. I still use the weights but in different spots to add mass and reduce vibration,
the lens can swing to the side for adding 1.4x or 2x or extension toob and camera can slide back and forth about a foot
lens support spike can rise and lower for fine adjustment.
With alot of practice and magic fingers to focus, this setup produces magic results. I can actually get smooth vibration free footage in 30-50pmh winds, I shoot alot
of kitesurfing and its always windy. :)-1.jpg Still just barely getting it set up, no viewfinder yet, but alphatron should mount to the side for better ergonomics.

If anyone has any suggestions let me know. I already painted my wooden spacer and placed it below instead of above the quickrelease plate.
Dont have any footage yet to post with fs700 but here is some stuff with this lens setup, https://vimeo.com/54742754 https://vimeo.com/tdz-2.jpg
