FS700 output with Pix240i and Cineroid EVF

Just got my full FS700 rig together with Speedbooster adapter, Canon 35-350 lens, Pix 240i, and Cineroid EVF. Only issue I'm having is that my EVF will only display when output signal is set to interlaced (ie. 1080i as opposed to 1080p). However, I want to shoot progressive. I think my only option is to go with an EVF that accepts progressive signals, like the Alphatron or more expensive Cineroid. Any insight would be most appreciated!

I think I understand what you are asking - I have a Kinotehnik EVF which also only accepts a 1080i signal but I record at 1080p (23.98) to SD. (Or used to before I went with the 7Q) I simply set the video output to 1080i on hdmi and set the record format at 1080p 23.98. Does not affect recording.

Took me a couple of shoots while I tried to monitor S&Q through the EVF.

It doesn't effect recording if you record internally to the SD card, but he has a PIX240 back there so I assume the recording is to that. Unfortunately there is no way to send progressive to the SDI out while sending interlaced to the HDMI.

My suggestion is switching the output instead to PSF. It is possible that the EVF will see that as interlace and you will be able to view the image while the PSF recording will function as a proper progressive capture. That's why Sony created it. I'm not sure if that will work with your viewfinder (been a while since I had a Cineroid in front of me) but it is worth a shot.
